On January 23, 2002, the Alliance Fund honored California's
First Lady, Sharon Davis, with its first Champion for Children
Award. The Alliance Fund held the gala celebration at the Fairmont
Hotel in San Francisco, where more than 200 policymakers, business
leaders, physicians, mental health advocates, youth, and community
leaders joined together to raise greater awareness about mental
health issues.
