The 2002-2004 Iris Alliance Fund partnerships included:

Improving Self-Esteem and Coping Skills Among Young People—providing a $10,000 grant to San Francisco Suicide Prevention, which used funds to provide peer-based suicide-risk reduction education, counseling, and outreach to underserved young women in San Francisco.

Community Partnerships: Engaging Community, Education and Business Leaders in Prevention Efforts—creating a community action plan with over 40 diverse South Bay leaders from businesses, education, local government, faith-based and social service organizations to prevent depression and suicide and related high-risk behaviors of smoking and substance abuse among youth.

In September of 2003, Iris Alliance Fund provided $30,000 in grants to address these issues and implement activities that will build youth self-esteem and improve support systems in the community. Grantees include: Fremont Family Resource Center, Bill Wilson Center, ACT for Mental Health, American Lung Association of Santa Clara-Benito Counties and Fremont Chamber of Commerce.

Reducing Violence Through School-Based Programs—funding the work of Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services with a $10,000 grant to support their crisis program to minimize the risk for school violence and decrease the possibility of suicide or attempts of suicide among school aged youth.

Educating Health Care Providers—partnering with the Schools of Pharmacy at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) and at the University of Southern California (USC) to increase awareness among pharmacists regarding the nature and scope of depression and awarding $10,000 to Kennedy Events to help facilitate this effort.
